This famous road which takes you through the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park and past the Pasterze Glacier and Grossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain. 48 km long, 36 bends and an impressive assent of 2504 meters. The toll road is only open during the summer months.

The famous Italian Dolomite Mountains are very close to Lienz. Here you can experience breathtaking scenery distinctive only in the Dolomite region. Set in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the River Isel forces its way through the narrow valley at the Umbalfälle into a series of cascades and waterfalls which was declared a national monument in 1991 and symbolises the Hohe Tauern Park.
